In my master’s thesis, I explored genre tropes in German film trailers from 2022 and 2023, focusing on the genres of action, drama, and horror. By analyzing a total of 15 trailers (five per genre) using a triangulation method, I identified recurring stylistic and narrative patterns. Based on these findings, I created alternative trailers for the film “Decision to Leave”, each tailored to fit one of the three genres. The project combines in-depth genre analysis with creative storytelling and editing.
